Yoga with Adriene: Total Body Yoga – Deep stretch (legs, back, hips) 45 minutes
Adriene is back again. She features quite heavily on my 30 day challenge video list as she has an excellent set of videos to choose from and she is a fantastic instructor. Today was a full body deep stretch workout. This workout particularly works the hips. It is slower paced but pushing you further with your stretches. You can expect to hold deep stretch positions for longer and really challenge your flexibility limits. An amazing workout if you are feeling tightness or tension in your body or just a bit yucky. During and after you will feel heat in your joints and muscles and a deep sense of relaxation.
What I also liked about it is that Adriene gives a lot of instruction to ensure you are doing the pose right and adjusting it to your limits. It makes such a difference when you really focus your mind on the movement. I often find how impactful my yoga practice is each day is very dependent on how much I am able to focus in those 20-60 minutes. If you’re in a loud environment or you are getting distracted – you wont get half the benefits. It is why it is important to try and get a quiet space to watch these videos. If you have children running in every two seconds it will not be the same! Of course this is easier said than done, so I would recommend that you plan when you will do yoga around when you will be able to squeeze in some ‘me’ time. Perhaps for you this is first thing in the morning or just before bed?
